I’m about 5 hours from competing this work. The goal is by friday to have this one completed. This is a unique diversion from my usual semi realized sculptural work. The idea is a more functional form that has an illustrated surface. All this in preparation for my application to the Piedmont Craftsmen in April. This has been a nice change from the challenges of working figuratively. I was surprised that in two to three 45 minute sessions I actually had this base form almost completed. I’m thinking about buying a complete alphabet on eBay this morning so I might write into the clay form.
