Starting something new
I started these bird baths after our metal bird baths basin cracked last winter. I was going to throw the whole thing out but then had the idea to create my own ceramic bath. This has been very exciting for me. Something functional and beautiful involving glazes. I also have been using my porcelain slip and pouring into the various plaster molds that I have. To some success, it also has inspired my imagination. But more over, I wish to continue crafting these totem like bird baths. It’s just a joy and doesn’t take me long. Used some letters of a Jane Sidberry poem/song around the outside. I’ve been researching a black for the outside with gold, and a high shimmer factor glaze for the interior. More to come.
