tiles and chubs a week in review

wind2This has been a great week! So glad to be productive it feels wonderful! This week I started a four sculpture abstract figurative series for the garden. This series will employ interesting glazes and loosely refer to the figure. The theme is the four elements, earth, air, fire, water. Each will be about the same height but employ abstracted forms related to the elements.

In addition to starting this new small series I have upped my game regarding slip castintiles_and_chubsg and glaze developments. I purchased some chemistry early in the week and have started picking glazes to tryout. As with any good glaze process test tiles are required so I’ve been working up a series of flat tiles and porcelain slip cast cherub heads that will act as the ground for these tests.
