Sketching

sketchI was recently asked about where I get my ideas from. Since I am superstitious and believe in the invisible energies that surround us, I will start by saying a thank you to the muse that inspires me. That being said, it begins with a kernel of an idea and evolves as the actual build evolves, taking  direction from my research into the various bits (also a thank you to Pinterest). I also will say that the creative process (aka the black box) does follow a particular flow, but ultimately the last item is having faith in the things that just happen and allowing room for those surprise “accidents” to remain in the finished piece. The success of a most recent work, the boxer, owed much of it’s final success to the things that happened during the surface working stages.
