SAHMs

Initially I was going to simply call them “the Sirens” but I think “SAHMs” or Stay at Home Mom’s seems to be fitting based on the emotional presence of the group together. It is my hope not to denigrate stay at home mom’s but to isolate a persona of type and create a social commentary by illustrating an emotional psychology of said type.

Even though the faces are meant to be identical, the size and position of the cornea within the eyeball have the effect of communicating panic, resignation, and worry.

The decision to call this set “SAHMs” came from a variety of sources including a recent article by the New York Times (“Poor Little Rich Women” and the TV series “Orphan Black“.
