Ceramic Sculpture Torso Begins

Started this a couple of days ago. I decided to work freehand without really a plan or a sketch. The result is that I will not be adding legs this time.  I am trying to create hollow forms to keep the weight down, but of course this will create problems as I stack the objects one on top of the other. Another issue is that I am using claymakers Red clay, which I’ve never used before. This clay has some issues in that it doesn’t use much grog content . This lack of grog content makes it difficult during the assembly process.

These stacked works are influenced by Marisol Escobar . My aim is to create a configuration of 3 moving around some centralize figure form.
